My name is Kelsey and I have been working in the beauty industry as a hair stylist and esthetician for 11 years. I am so blessed to have been with MAIA Salon and Spa from the very beginning, when the idea of an integrative holistic approach to beauty and inner well-being was just a vision. Watching the space grow and evolve over the past few years has been an amazing experience.
I have knowledge and skill in most aspects of hair and skin care including custom coloring/cutting/styling, keratin treatments, formal styling, makeup, waxing, facials and microdermabrasion. I am currently most passionate about corrective color and human hair extensions. Being able to create a look that a client had thought to be unimaginable is what keeps my passion for the beauty industry thriving.
As far as skin care services, I have worked with many product lines including Dermalogica, PCA Skin and SkinCeuticals however, Eminence Organic Skin Care has been my favorite line to utilize on my guests as well as my own skin for more than 8 years.
I have been very fortunate to have taken many advanced training courses throughout my career as a stylist in several academies in New York, Florida and California. My extensive education consists of techniques from Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Kim Vo, Pravana, Redken, Wella, Goldwell, Keratin Complex, Lasio, Brazilian Blowout and many more. The past few years at MAIA have been spent building my knowledge in Eufora’s color and product lines which utilize Organic Aloe Vera, natural plant extracts and essential oils, fitting the holistic approach we strive to deliver.
Having a career based on helping others look and feel amazing had inspired me to continue my education and career journey to becoming a Registered Nurse in order to truly understand how to promote health and wellness to my guests in all aspects. I hope to someday combine both of my careers and passions completely to deliver the full experience of beauty and health from the inside outward.
My goal is to share all of my knowledge and experience with each guest that sits in my chair. I truly believe that I, personally, can only show an individual how to care for themselves in order to look and feel their best. The rest is up to that person to utilize the power I give them to continue their own journey to a happier, healthier being.
Book an appointment to see me for your beauty needs at MAIA on Saturdays from 9am-6pm

What I love: I love creating a customized look for every guest that sits in my chair. I’m skilled in many ways to achieve your desired look. Haircuts, color, extensions, and texture services!
Where I’ve been: I started my career bettering myself and taking many classes at Arrojo academy in Manhattan these classes include, Classic haircutting, Curl and texture haircutting, American Wave certification, Razor fundamentals, and mens haircutting. I now continue to further my education working with Eufora! So far I had the pleasure of traveling to San Diego for Eufora’s vision quest, attend a men’s haircutting class, learn about aloeplex (Eufora’s incredible permanent waving system), and attended Eufora’s foundations 1(a crash course in precision haircutting). The beauty industry is constantly evolving, so I plan to further my education in order to give my guests top notch services!
I started out in my home country in Turkey, I owned my own hair salon and kept my clients dear and close. I went to school there and first got my cosmetology license there; however when I came here I had to go back to school for my license since I could not use my Turkish license here. I rekindled my love for the creativity that comes as a cosmetologist but I still keep my clients as dear and close to me as I did in my own shop in Turkey. I’ve also done work in Midtown Manhattan for close to 15 years now in a little shop owned by a close friend of mine. I still work there on Sundays just for the joy of being able to do what I love in one of the best known cities in America.
I’ve been styling hair for over 16 years. I started styling hair in a high end Salon in Jamesport, NY. I was blessed to work for a salon that offered amazing training, and I travelled to Manhattan once a month for hands on education at the Wella Studio. After 4 years I wanted a change, so I moved to MTK since my brother moved out there a couple months before me, and it helped having family in town. I worked at Gurney’s Inn doing on-site bridal hair styling. I love to do updos. I was featured in Dan’s Paper and The Montauk Sun.
I’ve worked on a lot of celebrites—my clientele includes Jimmy Buffet’s Wife as well as his son and Aida Turturro from the Sopranos. I’ve worked with Raphael Mazzucco, a Sports Illustrated photographer, styling hair for Victoria’s Secret models on a Montauk photoshoot.
Then I began working in Manhattan on Madison and 5th at Gill Ferrer Salon. I trained under a celebrity colorist for a couple of months, then worked in their Bridge Hampton location.
Being a stylist in Hamptons was the best time of my life—styling hair on yachts and attending elite social parties. It was so exciting to have met so many types of people from the local fisherman to high end Wall Street men.
Once I hit my mid 20s I decided it was time for another change and I packed up my car and drove to Texas for a new chapter in my life— nothing ventured nothing gained! Live life with no regrets!
In Texas I had to start my career all over again, which was a humbling experience!!! From an Apprentice that moved up to an Aveda Master Hairstylist Lead Educator for K Charles @ CO.
I Teach Junior and Senior Hair Stylists creative hairstyling from basic coloring to advance hair cutting. After 5 years in S.A, Texas I decided to move back to NY to give birth to my son and take care of my sick mother. I took 6 months off of my career to care for my sick mother and my son. She passed away in Jan 2018 from Cancer, so I believe everything happens for a reason. I moved back to NY at the perfect time.
One a random day I wanted a massage and went to MAIA Salon and Spa. Jewels the Salon Manger saw I was a hair stylist and recruited me. As of April 2018 I’ve begun my journey as a hair stylist at MAIA. I love the fact that the salon offers Mondays at Racine doing free services for cancer patients.
